I know. 99.99% of Americans never thought otherwise, but to the tinfoil hat crowd, Obama's birthplace was disputed. Those folks believed there was a giant conspiracy to coverup Obama's true birthplace, which they would assert was Kenya (or Jakarta or the moon or Mars or....well, you get the picture).
So....official news from Hawaii:
State officials say there's no doubt Barack Obama was born in Hawaii.
Health
Department Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino said Friday she and the
registrar of vital statistics, Alvin Onaka, have personally verified
that the health department holds Obama's original birth certificate.
Fukino
says that no state official, including Republican Gov. Linda Lingle,
ever instructed that Obama's certificate be handled differently.
She says state law bars release of a certified birth certificate to anyone who does not have a tangible interest.
I will wait for some to challenge even this. After all, the state government of Hawaii could be in on the coverup....
