Update: So far, "swimming freestyle" has been nominated in three categories for the 2009 Weblog Awards; Best Political Blog, Best Liberal Blog and Best Large Blog. Great thanks to all who nominated "swimming". Please feel free to make additional nominations here in either other categories or to second nominations.
The 2009 Weblog Award nominations are now open and continue until November 20. Last year, "swimming" had the good fortune of being nominated and selected as a finalist in the "Best New Blog" category.
Clicking the Weblog Awards icon will take you to the site.
As you'll note, there are ALOT of categories. One of the bigger changes from last year is how blogs are characterized by size. The groupings are now based on Technorati's new method for computing blogs authority and "swimming" is considered a large blog.
On a personal note, apart from the thrill of being nominated and, ultimately, a finalist, last years Awards process provided me an opportunity to not only "meet" some terrific folks but also discover some very cool blogs.
Beginning today, in addition to blogging at swimming freestyle, I begin a daily blog for the new and improved (and quite slick) national online newspaper, Examiner.com. I am the Progressive Politics Examiner, blogging more exclusively about politics than here at swimming freestyle.
I do hope you take a look at the Examiner. Lots to check out.
